About LitterFreeSB
​We are a group of like minded folk who volunteer to come together twice a month to litter pick in and around Sowerby Bridge town centre.
​
Calderdale is a beautiful place... and we want to keep it that way.
​
It's a simple philosophy of bringing people together, having fun, and taking pride in our lovely little town.​​

Our Annual Big Pick
Once a year we hold a Big Litter Pick where we have several groups of people litter picking a number of zones in Sowerby Bridge.
​
This takes place in September, the day after the RushBearing Festival.
​​
Everyone is welcome and a great time is had by all.
​

Young People
​Our litter picks are an excellent opportunity for young people undertaking their Duke of Edinburgh Award to complete their prescribed volunteering hours whilst also supporting their local town.
​
For Rainbows, Brownies, Girl Guides, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts, we can loan groups equipment or you can join our organised litter picks, helping to earn achievements and badges such as the Scouts Community Impact badge.
​
Your support also allows us to go into schools and provide fun and educational litter-picking activities using child-sized equipment to support teachers in their delivery of the National Curriculum and its emphasis on protecting the natural environment.
